A stunning former rectory owned by the "father of palaeontology" and visited by Charles Darwin is on the market for £1.5m.

The Old Rectory has been home to many interesting historical figures including Revd William Fox, Britain's greatest dinosaur hunter.

Fox collected fossils while out for walks near his home in Brighstone on the Isle of Wight and discovered more species of dinosaur than any other Englishman.
The six-bedroom property was also home to a bishop interned in the Tower of London for refusing to swear fealty to King James II and the son of William Wilberforce.
