An ancient globe depicting the world in the 1500s that is one of the oldest examples known of today sold for £116,000.
The globe dates back to between 1550-60 when it was believed to have been made by Francois Demongenet, a French physicist
and geographer.
It depicts a world before Australia had even been discovered by Dutch explorer Willem Janszoon in 1606.
