Captain Kirk's original outfit from the first series of Star Trek has sold for over £90,000 after a bidding war.

William Shatner wore the yellow-gold tunic and black trousers during filming for the hit sci-fi show in 1966.

The top is made of velour with a black cotton ring collar, long braided sleeves and a gold lame Command patch.
The outfit, which exhibits signs of 'wear and tear', fetched treble its pre-sale estimate when it hammered down with Heritage Auctions, of Dallas, Texas, US.
