A fascinating cache of letters have come to light which suggest James Bond creator Ian Fleming had a fascination with transvestites.

Fleming wrote regularly to Antony Terry, a European correspondent, in the 1950s.

Terry, who was based behind the Iron Curtain in Cold War Berlin, discusses the German city's transvestite scene in several letters.
He seems to have been given instructions by Fleming to write stories about and photograph the cross-dressing community.
