The medals of a Battle of Britain ace who survived being shot down five times are for sale.

The medals of a Battle of Britain hero who survived a bullet through his helmet and married a Hollywood star have sold for £220,000.<br />

Squadron Leader Tony 'Bolshie' Bartley claimed at least 12 victories during World War Two.<br />

After the conflict he became a Hollywood producer and married 'The King and I' actress Deborah Kerr.<br />
<br />
His medals were sold at auction alongside those won by Sq Ldr Trevor Wade, another one of 'The Few'. His medals went under the hammer for £80,000.
