The efforts of a conservationist to reintroduce extinct species on his farm have been rewarded with a financial boost to help release wildcats in 2024.<br />

Derek Gow, 57, has turned his farm into a safari park to breed creatures that existed thousands of years ago.<br />
<br />
He currently has five mating pairs of wildcats on his farm which were given to him to breed by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.<br />
<br />
The plan is to reintroduce the Scottish wildcats into secret locations throughout the Devon countryside next year.
