The family of a Blitz bomb disposal hero who saved a large chunk of London's rail network have sold his bravery medals for £110,000.<br />

Sub-Lieutenant John Duppa-Miller sprung into action when a German mine landed in a viaduct outside London Bridge station on December 8, 1940.<br />
<br />
He laid in a pool of water with his face just six inches from the fuse, knowing it could explode at any moment.<br />
<br />
Twice the ticking started and he ran for his life, but on both occasions it stopped before detonation.
