These old birds are thought to be the oldest parents in the world with their combined ages of a staggering 372 years. The two Tawny Frogmouth birds from Australia have recently hatched their eighth chick despite their impressive ages. Experts believe the oldest of the breed in captivity was 30, which means that the plucky male bird named Gerben has already beaten the previous record with his impressive 33-years, which translates to an incredible 198 in human years. Tawny Frogmouths - Podargus strigoides in Latin - are only expected to live for an average of up to 14 years in the wild. The duo live at Paultons Park near Romsey in Hampshire with their nine-week-old chick Willow, who experts hope will follow in her parents' footsteps.
