A bus company has been shamed into a U-turn by a generous pensioner who agreed to fund a vital service it had axed.
Alan Williams was prepared to fork out £3,000 to keep the Sunday route going after operator First decided to scrap it from January to March because it didn't make enough money.
But the company has now agreed to restore the X53 service between Weymouth and Bridport in Dorset and refund Alan's expenses.
