A remarkable collection of Manchester United memorabilia put together by a lifelong fan has sold for £275,000.

Paul Atkinson has amassed over 300 items which span the past century of the Red Devils in his 25 years of collecting.

The marquee lot was the 1968 European Cup winner's medal awarded to 'Busby Babe' Bill Foulkes, which fetched £68,200.
