An incredibly rare letter written by the pioneering fossil collector Mary Anning to a close friend recounting her discoveries has been unearthed.

The never-before-seen letter, that is worth £70,000, was sent by Anning to William Buckland, an geologist and palaeontologist, in 1824.
It was rediscovered by Buckland's descendants stowed away amongst papers in a drawer in the family home.
