John Wayne gun holster, £1,128.
Two washbags that show the gentler side of gruff Western legend John Wayne have sold for more than three times their estimate.
The bags, which contained baby talcum powder and hair tonic, offer a fascinating glimpse into the star's daily routine towards the end of his life in the 1970s.
The washbags, which also contain four electric shavers, two wet shavers, tooth paste, shaving cream, and a comb labelled "From Cary Grant" - despite the two Hollywood icons never sharing the silver screen - sold for £1,735, well over the £500 estimate.
Those who wanted to dress like the 'Duke' had to fork out £13,600 for his clothes, including a screen-worn cowboy shirt, embossed leather boots likely worn by him on True Grit, a holster, a hat associated with the 1960 movie The Alamo and a duster coat from In Old California.
