Two friends have set up a business making 'sustainable' eco-friendly underwear using centuries-old techniques.
The biodegradable knickers are made from hand-woven, plant-dyed cotton, with the elastic from natural rubber.
Primrose Matheson and Vanessa Barker, of Bedstraw and Madder, have established a cotton farm pilot in Southern India which does not use pesticides.
The cotton is transported to Sri Lanka where the nickers are made in a 'certified factory with good conditions'.
