A poignant memorial service has taken place to remember a tragic RAF crew after the wreckage of their aircraft was found 75 years later.
Relatives of the six airmen who died when their Stirling bomber was shot down over Germany attended the unveiling of a memorial stone and plaque to mark the crash site.
It was the first time the families had been made aware of the exact location of where their loved ones perished in the Second World War.
Also present was Steve Bernard, the son of Harry 'Barney' Bernard who was the seventh crew member and the only one to survive.
Harry was the rear-gunner and when the shot-up plane began hurtling to the ground he climbed into the fuselage to see his comrades dead.
