Rare telegraph messages that document the most famous naval engagement of the Second World War are being sold by the family of the signalman who received them.<br />

The messages were received by Harold Key who manned the radio room on HMS Cossack during the chase for the Bismarck.<br />
<br />
The pride of Hitler's fleet was pursued by British ships after it had sunk the HMS Hood with the loss of 1,415 crew on May 24, 1941.<br />
<br />
The devastating attack by the feared battleship prompted Prime Minister Winston Churchill to issue the famous order 'Sink the Bismarck'.
