The unofficial birthplace of angling, complete with its 400 year old 'temple,' is up for sale with a whopping £450,000 asking price.
The stone temple on the banks of the River Dove in Staffordshire was built in the 17th century in honour of author Izaak Walton, who had perfected his techniques and created his mighty work 'The Compleat Angler'' (sic) on the scenic river.
Walton's pescatorian Bible was published in 1653 after Walton had spent hours and days with landowner and friend Charles Cotton experimenting with methods of fly fishing at the idyllic spot.
The 'temple' even bears the crest 'Piscatoribys Sacrum' (Sacred to Fishermen) over the door and comes with 3 miles of riverbank for the new owner to become the complete angler.
