'Rubber Soul' - The album that featured 'Norwegian wood', on which Harrison played his sitar for the first time in popular music.
The sitar guitar famously used for the first time by George Harrison on the Beatles' song Norwegian Wood has emerged for sale for £40,000.
The guitarist triggered the so-called great sitar explosion in rock 'n' roll of the sixties when he picked up the old Indian instrument in the Abbey Road recording studios.
The Fab Four had been looking for a different sound to the backing track for the song and Harrison remembered the sitar he had just picked up from a second hand shop.
The use of the sitar proved hugely popular and other artists began to follow suit.
The instrument is being sold by US auctioneers Nate D Sanders.
