A fascinating collection of rare SOE and RAF escape and evasion items have emerged for sale for thousands of pounds.
The array of concealed weapons, compasses and other devices were used by World War Two operatives and airmen behind enemy lines.
A stand-out lot is a MI9 cigarette lighter whose top screws off to reveal a compass, while a 3.5ins escape knife would have been hidden in an RAF 'Beadon' flying suit.
The collection of 20 items boasts a concealed fishing kit, silk maps which were woven into jackets and even a miniature telescope to scout out the enemy.
They are going under the hammer with Marlow's Auctions, of Stafford, Staffs.
