A prestigious private school wants a public footpath that runs across its land diverted due to the amount of dogs' mess left on its immaculate playing fields.<br />

Bosses at £30,000 a year Canford School in Dorset have also cited concerns for the safety of ramblers being hit by stray golf balls as the path runs close to its golf course.<br />
<br />
They have applied to the local council to reroute the long-established path off their land altogether.<br />
<br />
One objector said: "The level of pettiness and entitlement is unreal."
