An iconic motor racing suit worn by Hollywood legend Steve McQueen in one of his few box office flops has emerged for sale for £200,000.

McQueen, a notorious petrolhead, donned the two-piece white race suit for his role as racing driver Michael Delaney in 1971 flick Le Mans.

The film told the story of the famous French 24-hour race but despite starring McQueen, then one of the world's biggest movie stars, it bombed because US audiences hadn't heard of Le Mans.
However following McQueen's death from cancer aged 50 in 1980 the film became a cult classic and memorabilia from it is now highly prized.
