The vast opium fields....of Dorset!
The unusual sight of vast fields of pale pink opium poppies swaying in the summer breeze is to be seen just outside Blandford in Dorset.
The bumper crop is grown in the UK to produce medicinal morphine for use in hospitals throughout the UK.
Unlike some other crops the poppies thrive on some of the south coast counties poorer chalky soils.
