A rusty key that helped save the lives of first class passengers on board the Titanic has sold for £70,000.
The master key belonged to cabin steward Edmund Stone who used it to enter 40 staterooms and alert the sleeping occupants that the luxury liner was sinking.
He also used it to unlock a door to a crew-only part of the doomed ship to provide an escape route to the upper deck for stranded third class passengers.
