The new owners of Enid Blyton's favourite hotel have come in for lashings of criticism over their plans to turn it into a five star resort.<br />

The £60m proposals for the Knoll House Hotel in Studland, Dorset, involved building a series of apartment blocks behind the original hotel facade.<br />

But local planning officials feared the design would have made the countryside retreat look more like a prison camp and so rejected the scheme.
