A cottage that was once the ticketing hall of a Victorian railway station has emerged on the market for £275,000.
The Ticketing Hall is a converted two bedroom property in the Grade II listed former Tavistock Railway Station.
The station, in West Devon, opened in 1890 and operated until 1968. It was a derelict building when the current owners, a married couple, purchased it in 2007. They transformed it into four cottages - The Porter's Office, The Ticketing Hall, The Refreshment Hall and The Station Master’s House.
The Ticketing Hall has many period features including the original canopied entrance way leading into a tiled and part-panelled foyer and the double-height ceiling of the sitting room with a cast iron fireplace.
