One of Buffalo Bill's favourite guns which commemorates his first stage show has emerged for sale for £50,000.

The legendary showman - real name William Cody - had his revolver engraved 'To W.F.C. The Scout'.

This refers to his 1872 appearance in Ned Buntline's play The Scouts of The Prairie, staged in Chicago.
