A cardboard box full of family pots thought to be worth £30 have sold for a staggering £112,000 after it emerged some were rare Chinese ceramics.
A 67-year-old retired computer engineer gathered together plates, bowls and dishes that had been displayed for 40 years in his late mother’s
home in Etwall, near Derby.
The collection included a set of four small dishes which fetched £63,000, over 10 times their estimate.
