A collection of signed Agatha Christie books she gifted to her doctor as a thank you for providing her with expert advice on poisoning for her crime novels have been sold.<br />
<br />
The prolific murder-mystery author consulted with her neighbour and personal physician, Dr Gordon Mitchelmore, about toxicology terms and methods and the affects of different toxins. <br />
<br />
Christie - the best-selling novelist of all time - killed off some 80 victims by poison across all her works that mainly featured the sleuths Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.<br />
<br />
In all, five Christie signed first editions sold for a total of £4,637 by the family of the late Dr Mitchelmore.
