Prince Phillip's study.
Rare photographs showing the complete construction of the much-loved Royal yacht Britannia have surfaced 60 years later.
The image archive was recorded by shipbuilders John Brown & Co during the 10 months it took to build the 412ft long vessel for Queen Elizabeth II.
The 70 black and white photos document virtually every stage of the project, from the laying of the keel in June 1952 to the furnishing of state dining room in April 1953.
They show cloth-capped, blue collar engineers hard at work while management in smart suits and bowler hats carefully inspect the build.
Some of the shots of the yacht in dry dock show it covered in scaffolding and highlight the two enormous propellers at the stern.
