History maker Andy Hall...

A history-changing 1,300 year old coin a metal detectorist spent three years proving was genuine has sold for over £42,000.

Andy Hall's silver penny find was at first dismissed by experts as a fake as it featured the head of a virtually-unknown Saxon king.

The date on it - 826AD - would also have meant that the history books on Britain would have to be re-written.
After being shown to be the real deal, Andy sold it at auction for £42,000. He will split the proceeds 50-50 with the landowner and is planning a holiday to Disney World with his share.
