A schoolteacher that has become a champion weightlifter is heading to Poland to compete in the world championships.

Hannah Lewis, 36, had to raise the money herself to be able to compete as there is no funding for weightlifting in the UK.

The mum-of-two needed to raise £1,000 to cover her entry fee, hotel accommodation, travel and even her GB kit or she would not be able to compete, despite winning gold at the European championships recently.

But she smashed her target, raising more than £2,000 and now has her sights set on the World Masters Championships.
