Going for a Song! - The entire wardrobe of the Pavilion Opera company is being sold off at East Sussex auctioneers Gorringes next week.
More than 600 elaborate opera costumes, hats, wigs and props are set to go under the hammer as the long-running touring company takes its final bow.
Freddie Stockdale set up Pavilion Opera in his back garden in 1981 and the company has travelled all round the world staging performances for the last 38 years.
But Mr Stockdale decided to call it quits this year and the fat lady sang her final song on July 14.
Now he is putting the bespoke costumes from famous operas such as Macbeth, Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro and the Magic Flute up for sale for what would be the ultimate in fancy dress.
