Wine lovers are rejoicing after a nifty gadget was invented that prevents plonk from going off after its been opened.<br />

Rather than removing the cork like a standard bottle opener, the revolutionary device pierces it with a super-thin needle which wine can then be poured through.<br />

Because air doesn't get into the bottle the wine doesn't go off - meaning drinkers can enjoy a glass of their favourite tipple without having to polish off the whole lot.<br />

The gadget, called the Coravin 1000, is the product of 10 years of testing by American entrepreneur and wine enthusiast Greg Lambrecht.<br />
