Wine lovers are rejoicing after a nifty gadget was invented that prevents plonk from going off after its been opened.
Rather than removing the cork like a standard bottle opener, the revolutionary device pierces it with a super-thin needle which wine can then be poured through.
Because air doesn't get into the bottle the wine doesn't go off - meaning drinkers can enjoy a glass of their favourite tipple without having to polish off the whole lot.
The gadget, called the Coravin 1000, is the product of 10 years of testing by American entrepreneur and wine enthusiast Greg Lambrecht.
It can be bought for £265 from coravin.co.uk.
