A first edition of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale that he gifted to the family of his former boss who gave him time off to write James Bond novels has emerged for sale for £95,000.
Fleming sent the rare copy to Anthony Kemsley (later Sir Antony Barry), whose father Viscount Kemsley was an understanding former employer.
He allowed Fleming, who was a foreign news manager for Kemsley Newspapers, to have an unusual clause in his contract.
It was stipulated that Fleming could have January and February each year off as annual leave to work on his 007 books at Goldeneye, his Jamaican home.
