Tributes have been paid to one of the last surviving Battle of Britain veterans who has died aged 97.<br />

Flight Lieutenant William 'Bob' Hughes who was an air gunner flying in Blenheims with No 23 Squadron died on Monday.<br />
<br />
He later went on to complete two operational tours on bombers and was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry.<br />
<br />
There are now only seven remaining living members of 'The Few' after the deaths earlier this year of Flight Lieutenant Ronald Mackay, Wing Commander Tom Neil and Squadron Leader Geoffrey Wellum, the youngest Spitfire pilot to fly in the battle.
