Eco-friendly officials in one of Britain's biggest holiday resorts have allowed cliff-top foliage to overgrow so much it is blocking the sea views.

For decades visitors to Bournemouth's East Cliff have enjoyed the stunning vista of Poole Bay, taking in the Isle of Wight on one side and Sandbanks on the other.

But now tourists are greeted by a 15ft wall of thick gorse and bushes when they stand or sit at the top of the 100ft cliff and look out to sea.

Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP Council) declared a climate emergency in 2019 and brought in grazing goats to manage the cliff-side vegetation rather than use petrol-powered strimmers.
