A fascinating letter from Edward VIII discussing his abdication and telling 'his story' has come to light.
The Duke of Windsor wrote to his friend Lord Beaverbrook from his French chateau on December 29, 1948.
The Express proprietor supported him when he stood down as monarch after 326 days to marry divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson 12 years earlier.
In the correspondence, The Duke of Windsor compliments Beaverbrook for a transcript he purportedly produced about his abdication.
He describes it as a 'complete and fascinating narrative', which both him and Simpson had 'read over several times with absorbing interest'.
