An inventor is hoping to revolutionise the camping world just in time for the notorious British summer after launching an insulated tent that keeps campers warm in cold weather and cool in the heat.

Derek O'Sullivan says his Thermo Tent will finally end the age-old problem of campers being freezing cold at night then boiling hot once the sun comes up by mimicking house insulation.

It means the temperature inside the tent remains stable, putting paid to common camping problems like having to take extra sleeping bags or having to wake up at the crack of dawn to let fresh air in.

And Derek says that thanks to the insulation his Thermo Tents also block out noise, saving campers the misery of being kept awake by revellers or being woken early by screaming children.
He has now launched the product on crowdfunding website Kickstarter where it has captured the imaginations of the online community - almost all of the 40,000 euros he needs to get his company started has been pledged.
