Fascinating promotional posters charting the humble beginnings of the Beatles for gigs in church halls and horticultural clubs have emerged in a new book.

They were designed by the late artist Tony Booth who was commissioned by the Beatles' legendary manager Brian Epstein to create the posters for their shows from 1960 to 1963.

They feature in new book 'The Beatles In Posters', which has been completed by his son Lee following Tony's death in January.

The final posters by him date to the end of 1963, by which point the Beatles had become household names following the release of debut album 'Please, Please Me'.
