Swim yourself thin... A greedy mastiff has swum himself into shape after staff at a hydrotherapist in Wilton, Wiltshire, hit upon the idea of a trail of cakes to encourage the portly pooch.

Overweight dog Loki, who loves to munch human food, has been swimming his way slim by chasing a plastic Christmas pudding and burger around the pool.

The five-year-old bull mastiff has shed 20lbs following a strict diet of low-calorie pet food and regular swimming sessions to battle the bulge and his osteoporosis.

Loki goes to Pet Waves hydrotherapy pool in Wiltshire once a week where hydrotherapist Joanna Cubbin gets him to work hard for his plastic food.
