An abandoned cottage that is covered by undergrowth and looks like something out of a horror film has sold for a whopping £430,000.

The derelict property, called Grasshopper Cottage, had a valuation of £275,000 before it went up for sale at auction.

But due to the current state of the property market where demand far outstrips supply, interest and bidding in the 150-year-old cottage took off.
