A classic Mercedes that belonged to motorsport icon and legendary playboy James Hunt has emerged for sale at auction.

The 560SEC was owned by 'Hunt the Shunt' between 1988 and 1991 at a time of his life when he was incredibly short of money.

As a result, the German coupe was gifted to him by an anonymous benefactor and he used it as his daily vehicle for three years.
