An incredibly rare prototype of the very first Range Rover model has emerged for sale for £30,000 more than 40 years after it was built.

The much-lauded motor was one of just 40 initially built under the codename Velar, a brand set up by Land Rover to develop their now iconic Range Rover model in the late 60s.
The Velar for sale - the 38th of the 40 made - is tipped to fetch £30,000 when it goes under the hammer at Charterhouse Auctions in Sherborne, Dorset.
