Reich in Ruins - An incredible album of unseen photographs from Hitler's devastated Reich Chancellery, taken one of the first British soldiers into a devastated Berlin has come to light.
The photo album was compiled by an elite soldier of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards that rolled into Berlin on 4th of July 1945.
The photos show the inside of Hitler's spacious private office from behind his imposing desk and the conference hall where the Nazi high command met to plot their next move.
By the time the unknown Guardsman set foot in the chancellery, its lavish marble interior had been battered by the Red Army assault and only a pile of rubble remained.
The soldier composed an album of his own photographs alongside Nazi publicity postcards from the heyday of the Third Reich.
