A charming letter from Agatha Christie expressing her admiration for Richard Attenborough has come to light.

The celebrated writer wrote to 'Dear Dickie' in 1964 to compliment him for his performance in the film Guns at Batasi.

She described him as 'the tops as an actor' and told him he was 'superb in the best film I'd seen for ages'.
