An angler who was told by his wife to bring home a fish supper from
his latest trip responded by catching one of the world's biggest ever
halibut.

Christian Johannsen, 45, spent nearly five back-breaking hours reeling
in the mighty flatfish that measured 8ft in length after it took his
bait.

It took three men to hoist the monster from the deep on board their
19ft fishing boat and it was so big they all had to stand on one side
of the vessel to stop it lurching over.

The humongous halibut weighed in at a mighty 428lbs and was so big it
made about 400 filleted portions.
