Poignant colour photos of three of the four Beatles on a holiday in Tenerife on the eve of their international stardom have emerged for sale.

Paul, George and Ringo were holidaying in Tenerife with german friend Astrid Kirchherr - who's fiancee Stuart Sutcliffe had tragically died a year before in Hamburg.

Talented art student Sutcliffe had been a member of the band whilst in Hamburg, before becoming engaged to Astrid and leaving the group to further his art studies.

Sutcliffes close friend John Lennon was holidaying with manager Brian Epstein at the time, so it was left to the three remaining Beatles to console Kirchherr on the anniversary of Sutcliffes death.
