The first two sets of Dinky Toys ever made have sold for almost £50,000 in a landmark auction.<br />

In a sale the likes of which has never been seen before, the 12 ultra-rare Dinky Toys from 1933 were snapped up by a private collector for almost twice their estimate.<br />

Experts at Special Auction Services in Newbury, Berks, had tipped the two boxes of six delivery vans to fetch £15,000 each but after fierce bidding they sold for £20,000 and £19,000 respectively.<br />
<br />
With sale room fees and VAT added the total was £46,000.
