Class War - A school has turned part of its playground into a replica First World War trench system that makes an fascinating and poignant living history classroom.<br />
<br />
The scaled down trenches allows pupils to get an authentic, hands-on lesson on what life and conditions were like for the unfortunate soldiers who served on the Western Front. <br />
<br />
As well as being given educational talks, students also get muddy taking part in re-enactment demonstrations in the trenches. <br />
<br />
The attention to detail includes replica rifles, bayonets, shell casings and even models of the ever present rats.<br />
<br />
The outdoor classroom is the first of its kind in the country and schools from miles around are booking up visits for their students to experience the real feel of the award winning movie 1917.
