An incredibly rare Land Rover that was the second ever to be made has sold for more than £100,000.

The Series I Land Rover has the chassis and engine number 860002 and rolled off the production line on July 19, 1948, the same day as the first Land Rover, which is owned by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe.

The 4x4 was used on a country estate until the 1970s.

It sold at Bonhams Goodwood Revival auction on Saturday for a hammer price of £95,000, rising to £109,250 with premiums.

It retains many original features only found on very early examples, such as the hand-made bulkhead and different seats only used in the first 150 Land Rovers.
