A black hat that belonged to tragic Hollywood screen siren Marilyn Monroe has emerged for sale for a whopping £22,000.
The floppy felt hat was made by top New York milliners Madcaps, and aside from a small tear in the inner lining it has survived the last 50 years in good condition.
Also in the sale is a vintage photo of Monroe wearing the hat taken by Roy Schatt, a photographer to the stars in the 1950s.
The hat is tipped to fetch $35,000 - around £40,000 - when it goes under the hammer at Nate D. Sanders auctioneers.
